Yogurtland

Yogurtland Teams with Rabbinical Council of California to Certify the Beverly Connection Yogurtland as Kosher IRVINE, CA) May 6, 2013 – Today, Yogurtland is pleased to announce the top-rated frozen yogurt chain has partnered with he Rabbinical Council of California to certify its Beverly Connection location in Los Angeles as kosher. Located at 8495 W 3rd Street in Los Angeles, this is the first Yogurtland location to be kosher-certified. At Yogurtland’s self- erve frozen yogurt shops, guests are welcomed by a bright, cheerful wall of sweet and tart yogurt flavors and a topping bar illed with healthful and indulgent options. Paying by the ounce, guests can choose among 16 yogurt flavors to create their own delicious frozen treat and top it off their way. “We are excited to work with Yogurtland to ensure this location meets all kosher requirements for both its frozen yogurt and oppings,” said Rabbi Yakov Vann, Director of Kashrut Services for the Rabbinical Council of California. “Certified kosher rozen yogurt from Yogurtland will be a welcomed treat for the kosher community.” “Yogurtland’s proprietary frozen yogurt is prepared at a certified kosher facility, and this certified kosher location now provides everything a kosher customer could want,” said Scott Shoemaker, director of product development at Yogurtland. The California Rabbinical Council letter of certification is now posted in the Beverly Connection Yogurtland window.

Chometz Sheavar Alav Hapesach

There is no issue of Chometz Sheavar Alav Hapesach in any of the major supermarkets or drug stores in California. Stores such as Ralphs, Albertsons, Safeway, Rite Aid, Wallgreens, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Gelsons, Coffee Bean etc. and this year even Smart and Final are fine to buy Chometz from now. The 99 cent stores appears to still be under control of the Gold family and as such we need to wait to buy Chometz there for at least 6 weeks. Other non Chometz items are fine. Individual liquor stores owned by a Jew are problematic and are not allowed unless they sold their Chometz. Please refer to the AKO list on the site listed in the Pesach section for some Jewish owned or distributed liquor companies.
